Standards for Editing and Publishing
In the United States, standards issued by the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) are available from NISO Press (https://www.niso.org/publications/press). A NISO-developed and approved standard becomes an American National Standard after the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) verifies that the process for approval has met the ANSI criteria.
Standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) can be purchased from ISO (https://www.iso.org/) or the American National Standards Institute (https://www.ansi.org/).
In Canada, the standards issued by the Canadian Standards Association and by ANSI, ISO, and other standards organization can be purchased from the Standards Council of Canada (https://www.scc.ca/).
British standards can be purchased from BSI (the British Standards Institution, https://www.bsigroup.com/); in the United States, they can be purchased from the American National Standards Institute.
See the individual chapters of this manual for specific standards.
