Terms & Conditions of Registration for a Group Subscription to The CSE Manual: Scientific Style and Format Online (CSE)
A group subscription to The CSE Manual Online (CSE) allows the specified number of members to access CSE simultaneously during the term of subscription. By registering for a group subscription to CSE, you represent that you have the authority to act on behalf of the group and each of its members with regard to their access to CSE. You agree that all members will access CSE subject to the Terms and Conditions of Use for The CSE Manual Online; and that access may be denied at any time without liability in case of violation by any individual member of the group, either to that member or to the group as a whole.

Use of the University of Chicago Press (Press) The CSE Manual Online (CSE) is subject to the following Terms & Conditions of Use.
By accessing CSE, you agree to comply with these Terms in addition to all other applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, you may not use CSE. The Press may terminate your access to CSE at any time without liability if the Press determines in good faith that you have violated any of these Terms.
These Terms may be modified at any time without notice.
1. Permitted Use
As a current individual subscriber to CSE, a member of a group with a current subscription to CSE, or an Authorized User of an institution with a current subscription to CSE, you may access, search, and view CSE content, including the digitized version of The CSE Manual, the CSE Citation Quick Guide and Tools, and the Chicago Style Q&A.
If you are an individual subscriber or a member of a group with a subscription to CSE, you may also create your own unique profile to access and post to The CSE Manual Online Forum (a section of The Chicago Manual of Style Online Forum), to communicate with other CSE users, and to utilize the customization features of My Manual enabling you to add Bookmarks, insert Notes, and create Style Sheets for your personal use and to share with your colleagues.
You may save and print individual sections of CSE for your personal use and to share with your colleagues for noncommercial research purposes only. You may not save or print any substantial portion of CSE. You may not display, distribute, manipulate, use to prepare derivative works, republish, or otherwise reproduce any content beyond the provisions of fair use with out acquiring additional permissions from the Press.
Please contact the Permissions Department at permissions@press.uchicago.edu if you wish to request permission to reuse CSE content for a specific purpose.
2. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for safeguarding the username and password assigned to your account, and you are responsible for any violation of these Terms by anyone who accesses CSE through you or using your username and password.
If you submit any content to be included on the CSE website such as questions for the Chicago Style Q&A or posts to the Online Forum, you are responsible for ensuring that it is free of all hazards and does not infringe any copyright or other legal rights of a third party. Posting any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or inappropriately sexual material or any other material that may violate any applicable laws is strictly prohibited and may result in your immediate and permanent ban from use of CSE. Any content you submit may be re-used by the Press free of royalty and without attribution.
3. Disclaimers
The Press will have no liability for any loss or damage arising out of use or inability to use any CSE content. The Press will have no liability for content submitted by users of CSE. The Press makes no representations, warranties, or endorsements with respect to any third-party website that may be accessible through the CSE website. The Press does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of information contained in CSE, or its merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Material may change at any time without notice. The Press does not guarantee that CSE will be accessible in any particular hardware or software environment.
The Press will make reasonable efforts to ensure that CSE is available on a 24-hour basis, excluding normal network administration and system down time, but if access is suspended or interrupted, liability will be limited to restoring access as soon as possible.
